    48 Coupe- valve tick

I've read most of the posts on the subject of valve noise, but I haven't found the answer to this question yet. I would like to know what causes the tick sound you hear when a valve adjustment is slightly over the max, assuming everything else is working properly. Does the noise happen when...

Cooling Problems, where to go next?

In my experience, rubber from inside deteriorating old hoses gets in the radiator tubes. The fact that the bottom hoses were collapsed may indicate such a condition. I suspect your problem all along has been clogging in the radiator. Flushing removes some stuff but rubber in the tubes usually...

    Spark question

Just a thought. I would check the voltage on the battery during cranking to determine what the actual voltage going to the coil is. Very easy to do with a meter. During cranking the high current draw out of the battery drops the voltage, so you may have a problem with your battery or starter...

Please keep us posted as you proceed with your testing. My two bits is on stuck valves too. Squirt a lot of MMO in the cylinders aiming at the valves and crank her over with the key off. I had that with my car when I first got it. Lots of info on this subject. Try using the search function...

48 Coupe-There's another old Ford on the road

The car was repainted somewhere along the line, but the color is pretty close to the factory paint. There are a few places where the original color can be seen, as under the spot light mount. I believe FortyNiner is right about Glade Green.

If you take it apart you will see how it works. See the link below for the information you need to know about the oil filled fan hub assembly. Probably isn't anything wrong with the one you have. http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_oilfilledfan-servicetips.htm

    48 coupe- blowing condensers

Car was running fine. Quit running. I replaced the condenser. Started and ran for 20 seconds and blew that condenser and quit. Is my coil shorted?

    48 coupe- What are these?

Had the rear end apart, changed axles and and replaced rear brakes and emer brake cable. Everything went back together, no apparent problems. These little wire clips are still in the hardware tub I was keeping everything in. Can someone please tell me what these are and what they're used for...

I'm so tired- but so so happy

For several days I've been trying to get one of the rear hubs to come off. I have to remove them both in order to proceed with removing the rear axles and the ring gear assembly to replace a bad axle and put new seals in the bells. The first one came off easily. The other one WOULD NOT BUDGE...
