I’m installing sill plates in my 40 Ford coupe. They are reproduction and need to be trimmed. Old ones were missing, so nothing to go by. Any suggestions?

This grille is a Bob Drake reproduction, an unplated casting. Ready to plate or paint. I bought it new last year to fit the nose together on my restoration project.
