    Zinc Additive for 6 Cylinder??

I followed gilsgarage recommendation, I am also using the diesel oil in my 57, I do notice when the engine is cold, my oil pressure is higher than when I was using standard oil. I also use a lead additive in the fuel.

What's your average trip, and furthest distance traveled?

Heck yea, definitely drop some insulation under that carpet. I would consider deflectors if I was planning on long trips with the hard top on, but I don't notice any heat radiating up at this point.

What's your average trip, and furthest distance traveled?

I am not sure what is worse, heating your seat or your fuel. I would be concerned about vapor locking with a tank of hot gasoline. What do you think, is that a consideration?

What's your average trip, and furthest distance traveled?

Well, I am pretty pleased to report that we ran an average of 13.5 mpg. I reduced my timing advance from 14* to 12* because of the ping that I heard on my way home. 5851, you got that right. Making it home with no issues is a huge bonus. Looking forward to the next big trip. Dave, it just...

What's your average trip, and furthest distance traveled?

So our trip went great!! decided to leave the top off, cranked up our 50's era music with great old commercials... Turned up the heater for the morning drive and she just purred at 2300 rpm (approx 60mph darn speedo sticks at 55) all the way up and down all the long fairly steep grades...

    Pertronix ignition

I am sure your right. For some reason my 57 had both wires. I "assume" because the person who installed the pertronix originally used it to offset the power. When I "thought" I was having ignition trouble, I tested the system and wires to verify everything was in spec, but found that the...

    Pertronix ignition

Thats interesting, but to be clear, I was referring to the positive wire coming from the ignition, instead of 12-14volts of power, the wire has its own resistance so if you take a reading you may only be feeding 8volts to the coil from the ignition wire. Plug wires are different, and I am not...
