    Your right. It's not connected to the gas cap. It comes off the vent line in the trunk. Down to a rubber hose and connects to a nipple that that is on the gas tank. I'd like to know where I could purchase the rubber hose. Thanks!!!

    Hi, I been using Shell Rotella 15/40 in my 1955 Fairlane.I noticed you can get that oil in a Synthetic Blend. Not fully synthetic. But a blend. Is it OK to use that or not? Thank You.

    Vapor lock, possibly?

    I had this Happen on my 55. It was the vent hose from the gas tank to the gas cap tube. Back then gas caps were not vented. It's a rubber hose underneath the car. It gets old and collapses. I replace it all is fine. Good luck.
