I installed an Isky cam in my 53 with 50 lbs spring pressure. The engine runs rough at 3000rpm and above. I discovered Isky recommends 85 lbs for this cam and suspect it could be the problem. Any thoughts?
Measure the foil you are using for setting bearing clearances. The standard Reynolds in our kitchen measures .005". I used two layers under teh bearing cap to set bearing clearances.
I finally installed an Autolite heater and it keeps us plenty warm. I added an cable control mounted on the steering column to the firewall opening cover in order to adjust the heat. It is easier than bending over to reach the cover under the dash.

Urethane windshield sealant works well. Warm it up a little and it can be dispensed from a calking gun fairly easily. It is both and adhesive and sealant and is black in color.
I installed an Autolite manifold heater in a 29 coupe and find it provides more heat than needed. I installed an control cable from heater vent door to the steering column to easily control and change the setting. This works well.

I installed rubber grommets sized to the pan holes that fasten to the frame. Hole modification was not necessary. The bolts were installed with self locking nuts to allow only slight tightening to avoid squeezing the grommets much and not loosen up. I believe this helped reduce the...
I just completed a clutch replacement Saturday because of chatter. The disc was unused but old with it was installed during restoration. It had a slight chatter initially and worsened quickly. I had the flywheel machined, replaced the disc with new and the pressure plate with a rebuilt and it...
