Mart, Thanks for posting that. I love to see what Ford had to offer across the pond! That particular car seems to be a true time capsule of the past. I have no idea of prices for these cars but the BIN price seems reasonable. Cheers - Bob
Ken has retired from re-building. I bought parts for my 47 Ford less than a year ago. I see that he is still selling parts from his stash on the Early Ford site. Try to reach him at:

I also wanted to have a remote reservoir for the MC on my 47. The old air cooled VW's had the MC down in the tunnel. They had translucent plastic reservoir mounted up under the hood with easy access and flexible lines down to the MC. If you feel like building your own the VW suppliers have them...
JimN, glad system is charging. Depending on driving habits and loads the 6V system is ok. I recently got my 47 on the road and was wondering about the 6V charging system in driving conditions. Bought a 0-20V gauge from Summit which showed that the bat is being charged. Made the mount for it out...
Setting points seems simple. However, point gap, dwell and timing are all interrelated. Probably best to send it out to the pro's who use a machine and can run it in a bit.
If you want to set it up yourself go to Vanpelt for details. I believe that info is from the Ford shop manuals...
Hi Walt, Good suggestions above. I think first thing to do especially if you suspect coolant in oil is to drain immediately and inspect.
I will assume that you have studs. Try to localize the leakers and deal with them individually with sealant. I can not add much more to this since I have not...
Marcus, I do not believe you have the old King Seeley set up. A couple years back the fuel gauge on my 72 Mustang stayed on empty. In this case the sender was bad. From everything I read it works on resistance so should be same for 68
Frist thing is to determine that V. regulator on back of...
I agree that the phenolic spacer would be a good option. I had to make one 40 years ago for my 55 so that I could add a PCV system to meet CA emissions. I do not remember all the details but I made a slot in the spacer and smashed down maybe a 3/8 piece of copper tubing to connect to.
There is...
Thought I would give a quick follow up on the rear brakes. Found a local repair shop that was familiar with the brake drum and hub assy. Drum cleaned up at .020. Went to install drum over the new shoes and it would not fit. I went to a number of shops to see if they could/would arc the shoes -...
Charlie, Thank you! I went to their web site and see that they work on the older cars also. I will assume that you asked about arcing shoes and they do not. Not a fun drive to get there but stopping at Tito's taco on the way home would be a bonus for the trip.
Seems that shoe arcing went...
Superreal, talked with a mechanic friend about turning drum. his machine does not have the thin arbor like Rich posted above. After looking over my uncut drum we think best route is to find someone to arc the shoes rather than turn drum and risk damaging drum. I will not have drum turned unless...
CAS, I agree withyou in that I want someone who has experience with these drums –they are different. I am not familiar with brake lathes and how theywould center the drum. I believe I can come up a sacrificial axleshaft if needed. RICH, thanks for pix that shows a centering arbor. Ireally think...
I am finally rebuilding the rear brakes on my 47 sedan. I riveted on NOS brakelining that I had and bought and installed new wheel cylinders. All went together just fine. I wanted to have the lining ark's to match the drum but could not find anyone local so gave up on that. I would still do...
