    '36-'39 Shift Lever

I had the shift tower off the '39 trans in my car and I found the stud and ball on the end of the shift lever had some significant wear. The only replacement lever I could find was on ebay and no guaranty it was in better condition than the one I had. I understand you can weld it up and file...

    Harmon Collins?

Thanks KiWinUS, that's what I think. Looks homemade. No HC data plate or holes where it would have been mounted. Even if I found a HC rotor, no way it would mount on this. Definitely has a 4 lobe cam yet stock rotor?? I got this from Vern Tardel,it was not expensive

    Harmon Collins?

Recent addition to collection. Seller described it as "HC flathead distributor dual point conversion" however I think he may have meant Dual Coil Conversion. It is missing the expensive HC rotor and the HC spacer/second coil wire piece. It has a 4 lobe cam, but the stock crab cap and rotor...

    Coil Tester

Well that could be, I also understand the coils were used on hit/miss engines so maybe something to do with that. One thing for sure, because its been protected inside the box, the coil looks brand new.

    Coil Tester

I picked this up off eBay. It was listed as a Model T coil tester however I don't think it is. Basically it's just a wood box with a KW coil mounted inside. On the outside there are 2 power wires with alligator clips, a spark plug cable and an on-off switch. The coil is screwed to the...

    LED Headlights

I've tried many halogen and led lights for my '36. Halogen were good, but drew a lot of current. Led's were off color, yellow or blue tint. Latest Led is perfect. Really bright white light. Amp gauge barely flickers when turning them on. ledlight.com p/n 74398

    Southside Obsolete

Good info Bored&Stroked. I have been seeing lots of stories about the poor quality condensers available today, I actually ordered a couple from ThirdGen yesterday. I hope they are quality units. Where do you purchase the Vertex Mag ones? Vertex was the choice of magneto ignitions before MSD.

    Southside Obsolete

Just wanted to give credit to Fred at Southside Obsolete. I've made several purchases and the parts and service could'nt be better. Just received this "crab" distributor. I inquired about a rebuild-able one and Fred sent me a message suggesting this Ford rebuilt unit. Notice it has Ford...

    Generator for 6V halogen lights

I used a 6 volt alternator concealed in a generator housing made by E J Whitney. It has the fan mounted to the generator, looks stock, works great. They offer several options, voltage, pos or neg ground etc. I've used it with both halogen and LED. LED is the way to go. EJ Whitney Company...
