28, 29 vs 30,31 What do you like any why?

I prefer the 28/29 cars for the reasons others have stated. I also like the appearance of nickel plating vs. chrome or stainless steel, and the parabolic shape of the 28/29 headlights.

My Distributor Cam Screw is Stuck

Regarding rotating the steering column, that does not appear to be an option with my early (7-tooth) steering box. I do not see a clamp on the steering box. If I am missing something, please let me know.

My Distributor Cam Screw is Stuck

Success! While working on the distributor I saw evidence of what looked like red thread locker on several other fasteners. So I suspect that someone used red thread locker on the cam screw. As you know the red stuff is meant to be permanent. Supposedly it can be loosened by heating above 500...

My Distributor Cam Screw is Stuck

I am adjusting the timing to correct a condition that prevented full spark advance when I bought the car. The spark control was set up so that moving the spark lever all the way up placed the arm on the distributor in the middle of its range. The timing was set to give 0 degrees advance in...

My Distributor Cam Screw is Stuck

Hello everyone, I am a new Model A owner. I purchased a 1929 roadster about 2 months ago. It is equipped with an FSI electronic ignition, so the distributor has an aluminum magnet sleeve instead of a points cam. I don’t think the timing has been adjusted since the electronic ignition was...

Car fails to acheave high speed

Ernie and Y-Blockhead, Nu-Rex makes a similar item intended for spark control rods. I don't see why it couldn't be used on throttle rods too.

    timing light

As a new Model A owner, I intend to use a timing light to check the timing on the 29 roadster that I bought a few weeks ago. It has with an electronic ignition. The instructions for the ignition say to set the timing by rotating the engine to #1 cylinder TDC, then aligning the rotor with the...

    Bring a Trailer

I have enjoyed looking at the offerings at Bring A Trailer for several years. Their main focus seems to be sports cars (lots of Porsches) and what I consider "interesting vehicles". Cars from the 20s and 30s occasionally appear but they don't seem to get the same level of interest as the later...
