Model A electric wiper inside mount

I did nearly the same in my car. There is a unit available that has a longer shaft and housing that can be cut down, so a bit less work than you did but it does not have a built in switch. The only issue with these wipers is they only have about 110 degrees of swing so if you set them so the...

What strange comments or questions have you heard about your Model A

The one that ticks me off is “it would be better with a 350 crate engine in it”. I have often wanted to say “your wife would look better if she didn’t have to drag an ugly guy around with her”. I have never said it but it is oh so tempting.

    Coupe rear window

I am in the middle of adding a roll down rear window kit in my ‘31. They were standard equipment in all deluxe coupes after June if 31 and in standard coupes that had a rumble seat. I have wanted one for years but I will say the kit is far from bolt in. I am bit detail oriented and I am sure at...

    FRONT Float-a-Motor Mount Questions

It isn’t required to use a front float-a-motor if you are using the rear set up. You can use the crank, in fact I would make sure the crank lines up so that you know the engine is sitting at a correct angle. When I did my front mount I bolted the mount to the engine and then set the rubber...

    Naming vehicles.

My coupe is named Henry (not very original but that was what the couple I got him from in '86 called him) My dad's sedan is named Abe (it is painted the same color as his '79 Lincoln) There was a guy in our club that had an old Graham Brothers Flat bed truck that he called Hardly Able and it...

    Exhaust manifold heater

I have the same door on my Coupe and it is for an Otwell. I ended up getting a bit of exhaust pipe and cutting it out to fit over the manifold and holding it down with some hose clamps. It probably does not get as hot as the real thing but it is easy to remove for summer driving.

    HELP Bonniville accomidation.

if you are unable to get rooms in Wendover, rather than stay in Salt Lake it is about 1/2 as many miles to Wells, Nv (60 miles) - still a bit of a drive but it is an option

position of handrails in rumble seat

I don't have measurements but this is a photo that kinda shows where they are on my coupe. Yeah they don't really belong on there, too bad its my car.

    Radio Install?

Here is how I mounted mine - I built a bracket that clamps on to the stiffener that runs i high up on the kick panel (drilled no holes) it also has a lighter socket for the gps you can see.

    U-Joint grease fitting

I remember the same discussion / argument, All I can say is based on the location of the grease fitting it is apparent to me that it was intended to lubricate the u-joint primarily and possibly the clamshell passively. (The clamshell, brake components, battery, muffler bearing are all lubricated...

    1931 RE-stamped firewalls...

Here are a couple of shots of the firewall of my Dad's sedan -- you can easily see the "plug" welded in to fill the old hole for the gas line and the flattening of the ribs
