    Burned-out tachometers

This is an interesting electrical problem. I own a 1934 Ford pu with a 59AB flathead. I wanted to install a simple tachometer to see what rpm I am really doing. Over the last 6 months, I have purchased ( and taken back) 7 tachometers from Walmart, Ebay, Pet Boys, Advanced Auto and other stores...

    Locking doors on 1934 Fords

Yes, the inside door handle. Both doors will lock if the handle is not pointing upwards. There is a key to unlock the passenger door, but that is on a separate locking system. Wish I could find a place to go to get info on the locking system. Bill4704

    Locking doors on 1934 Fords

If I shut the doors on my 1934 Ford pickup with the handle in any position besides facing up, the door will lock and I have to remove the floor to get back in the vehicle. Anyone run across a solution to this? Thanks, Bill

Removing trans in a 1934 Ford pickup

I am attempting to replace the original 1934 trans in my 1934 truck with a 1934 trans. So, far, I have dropped the axel & torque tube and removed all transmission bolts, removed clutch arm & parking brake. Tried to jack up the engine, but the whole truck moves. There seems to be 2 rods about 1/2...

FedEx lost my rebuilt '39 trans

Recently ordered a rebuilt 1939 3-speed manual trans from Minn. The seller sent it out by FedEx. FedEx lost in in Kennesaw, Ga. I have a friend who has been a mechanic for over 40 years. He had an item waylaid in Kennesaw, Ga for several months. This may end up costing me about $1600 if FedEx...

    Radiator cap on 1934 Ford

I have a 1934 Ford pickup. This week, it started leaking some around the radiator cap. I lost about 2 qts of fluid over about 20 miles of driving. However, the temp gauge was never close to hot. This radiator cap is just a ring of rubber that fits onto the top of the radiator. I have included a...

    Keep my '34 running

Thanks for the info. Easy try. May try and find boots for the exposed spark plugs.

    Keep my '34 running

I have a nice '34 Ford pickup with a 59AB flathead. It has the old helmet distributor, modified to take a modern 12v coil. The electrical is now 12v. It has the original copper plug wires with bare metal connectors to the spark plugs. Runs great-until it rains! Any water through the radiator and...
