Looking for an original Door Striker for a Model A.

Not sure what the actual size of a steel dowel is, I think the shaft hole dia. is .370", but a dowel might be about the same size. If you make sure there are no burrs and use a good penetrating oil you might be able to push it through with a little hammering. Good luck on that one. B.G.

I bought a reproduction light rod that was about .005" too large for the shaft center hole. Had to do a lot of sanding to make it fit. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this little anoyance. B.G.

I'm with Rod. A brake hone is absolutely the best way to go for the small amount you are removing. Why buy an expensive reamer? B.G.

If the reproduction parts you buy are crap, send them back for a refund or credit. If everyone does this without hesitation, eventually the vendors will have to find someone in the industry that will produce quality, or, the parts become unavailable. Either way you wind up with a good part since...

Is it a good/bad idea to use heat to get the spring perches off? B.G.

That large hole is for a special brass bushing. Look it up online with one of the parts suppliers. B.G.

Definitely use a cheap shop press for straightening because you can compensate for any springback.

I wonder if that will run a microwave oven on the opposite side?
