    Black plugs

I used a 0,8 mm drill (smallest I had) but after testing I enlarged the hole a little bit with this same drill as the flow rate was too low. With the correct flow rate (I think I used 160cc/min but I have to double check) the hole is still less than 1 mm.

    Weird electrical problem?

Ok, now I understand what you mean. But if that were to happen the engine would stop running as well because there would be nog ignition right? I don't recall this happening. With disconnecting the light switch I mean the switch on the bottom of the steering column. I accidentaly removed the...

    Weird electrical problem?

Tom, I don't have a fuse and no master disconnect either (both are on the to do list, but I only got the car recently). So the system was under power when I disconnected the lightswitch (by accident). All bulbs except one signal light were blown...

    Black plugs

I recently serviced my carb and checked all jets flow through (I made a simple test setup to measure cc/min) and I found my main jet was too big. This was consistent with my engine "stuttering" at high rpms, so I soldered the main jet closed and drilled it out. It took 3 tries to get the flow...

    Weird electrical problem?

Thanks for sharing your solution! I have the same issues with lights and horn only working when engine is running so as soon as I have some time I will check the lighting switch! (I will disconnect the battery this time, as last time I disconnected the light switch I blew all light bulbs...:()

    New Model A owners

My wife and I are both 33 and very recently became the proud owners of a '30 Standard Phaeton. We immediately joined the local Model A club (here in the Netherlands) but this club has no forum. So with all the questions of a new owner we find this website and it's members very very helpfull...

    Pushing Coolant Out The Overflow

I had a similar problem because my radiator cap was not closing properly. I eventually found that the radiator cover was mounted at a small angle and this caused the radiator cap to only hold on 1 of the two nipples.

    Phaeton roof lashing

I recently became the proud owner of a 1930 Standard Phaeton. After a lot of hours checking and repairing many items she is now running beautifully. This is very nice offcourse but has presented me with a new problem: When driving relatively fast (80km/h) with the roof down the fabric of the...
