    Barrett-Jackson '40 Chassis

It's lot 1340 but don't know what time it comes up. I think it will break 50k. It would look good beside my Manderin Maroon '40, but alas, only dreaming.

    Gearbox thrust washers

Lawrie, I had the same problem with my Canadian trans. We made one out of the U.S. Washer that has the smaller round hole the size of the shaft. Thickness and finish was the same. We did a simple program on the CNC mill and it came out perfect. If you are stuck and cannot get it done in your...

Carb issues with a new Holley 94

Back to the problem: rich mixtures above idle, as in cruise, or acceleration, will cause over rich and low idle speed when plates return to idle. Power valve leak, high float level, will contribute. Some carbs mixed air in the main jet wells as it came to the ventury to better atomize mixture...

    Tow Dolly a Ford V8

The needle/roller pilot brg between the input shaft and the main output shaft depends on the cluster gear moving to get its lubrication, in addition to the rear ball brg. That thought would drive me crazy on a long trip with the rear wheels on the road. Just a thought.

I had him send his last 2 out to me also, and found them both very good. Pleasure to talk to over the phone, helpful.

I want duals on my '40 and found Waldrens Exhaust on the net. Has anyone tried their Stainless steel kits? They look good in the pictures.

    timing & starting problems

Had a shop where we did a lot of tune ups, o/h distributors on all. Many times on Fords, the lead was broken inside the rubber insulation where it flexes most. Connection would make and break at random, causing very erratic starting and running. Just an old thought.

    Canadian transmission

Duece Man, found the drawing but G code was erased, but my CadCam guy says its an easy one. I will try some pictures here. Can't find a pic of the finished product, its now in the transmission. The thrust washer with the round hole is the same thickness and OD as the "Canadian" one, and easy to...

    Canadian transmission

I have a'40 Canadian and did my trans. Same issue with the vent and the thrust washer. There is the normal USA washer, same thickness and construction, but with a round hole the size of the shaft. I took that one on my CNC mill and made it into a Canadian. Still have the pics and the program(G...

    40 Ford brake

I brought my drums and shoes to an industrial frictions(brake and clutch) rebuild shop and they put long linings on all my shoes, and arced them nicely to fit the drums. What is going to be the result of using them like that on my stock '40, good, bad, noticeable?
