6/12 Volt Fuel Pumps - Lesson Learned

No return...it goes into the trash. Didn't pay much for the China junk. The Vic has a toggle switch under the dash for pre-start prime. The prior reliable Airtek finally died.

That is what I tried - and I knew right away it was blocked - dang!

6V/12V Fuel Pumps - Always Ask

If you plan to add or replace an electric fuel prime/booster pump, BE CERTAIN that it is a "flow thru" design - one that allows fuel to flow freely when that pump is not running. I had ordered a pump and neglected to verify this critical feature before ordering.

    Initial Timing via Vacuum

My '55 with stock 272 arrived here with a Holley 2300 carb and an unknown dissy. They did not play well together so I swapped in a freshly-curved '57 dissy. The curving was done locally on a SUN distributor machine by an old guy who knew what he was doing. The vacuum advance is ported into...

Does anyone have experience with Cobramik

I bought my '41 P-U from Cobramike a few years back, based only on photos and conversations. I was not disappointed - the truck was totally as represented.

    Initial Timing via Vacuum

OK...virtually no difference at idle. As expected, the vacuum does add more degrees advance in addition to the mechanical advance with increasing RPMs. They are complementary.

I'm curious too...will check it out and report back.

    Initial Timing via Vacuum

I'm running a '57 dissy with a Holley 2300 carb using venturi vacuum in my '55 Vic with a stock 272. I have approx. 38-40 degree advance open road cruising. Works for me.

That '57 distributor is a great upgrade for your 272. I'd just give it a go and see if that works for you.

    Holley/Fod 94 Carb Adjustment

I was always taught to adjust idle screw(s) until engine starts to stumble, then back off a half turn. Been doing that for past 70 years.
