Welcome to the NEW Ford Barn!!!!

thank you for the upgrade and all your work behind the scenes. this is THE PLACE to go for help and advice. Lots of long-time Model "A" folks here helped me get unstuck and figure things out, bought, sold, traded parts and share experiences. Keep the Faith.

    What does "AR" actually mean?

I was under the impression the "A" represented the original part and then the "R" meant that part was "RETIRED" = "AR"

OT: WW1 flying over the battle field 1919

The first "modern" war when machines and weaponry were more powerful than the men who knew what to do with them ...... then another war came and we unleashed the science to blow ourselves up ..... and now we have created technology that will be smarter than us very soon....... and soon it will...

    ???NEW???? Judging Standards

There was a message that went out, the early sale copies had the holes punched a little off the margin and cut into some of the written text. If you don't care that some of the letters got cut off along the left hand side, nothing else is different. YES it's the latest REVISION 5 dated 2026 for...

Winter driving, back in the day.

those were the days when folks needed an extra hour to start the fire to get the stove ready for the morning as well as warm the car before heading off to work, and all that was done in the pre-sunlit hours of darkness. how spoiled we are now, you can activate and adjust all those things from...

Powerhouse Generator Rebuilder - Do we have anyone restoring these??

too bad no one ever reproduced that ring, or maybe soon someone with 3D printer knowledge could give a shot in the arm to this hobby with that idea. mirror size for pre war early Fords

long or short mirror depends on the bracket and how much swivel it has so you can properly see if your roadster top is up and your only view is thru that narrow rear window. both my Phaeton and '33 V8 pickup use the same bracket and short mirrors, they work just fine.

    Fan Shroud helpful?

I think the 3-tab shroud is the early type regarding Model "A"s then they changed to the channel all the way across, that's the one I have. Running a later '30s 4-blade fan and leakless water pump, standard powerhouse generator, all 6-volt. No overheating issues for me.
