    48 Mercury hand brake

I ran into this same problem last week and could not figure it out. I think old age has run over me. I know this is an old thread but thanks to all of you who replied with the answer. Now, I can go adjust the e-brake correctly.

Using 8.8 rear brakes on a '48 banjo

Back in 2010, a fellow on the HAMB posted about upgrading his banjo rear brakes with the rears from an '87 - '96 F150. The link to his Photobucket account expired and all the pictures are lost. Has anyone on here done a swap like that? I know about the Boling Bros. upgrade, but I have several...

    Wheel Cylinder issues

Thank you for the reply. It's been a couple of years since I ran those lines. Maybe I did use solid copper washers rather than copper crush washers. I hate getting old. I knew all this stuff several decades ago. Now, I've got to ask. Thank you again.

    Wheel Cylinder issues

Another F1 front cylinder question. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be an adapter between the brake line and the cylinder port? I bought new wheel cylinders and rubber lines from NAPA and the inverted flare fittings on the hoses don't seat into the ports on the cylinders. Currently...

    Got a gearbox?

Strange that I should run across this thread just after seeing one of these on Cleveland, TN FB. Looks to be complete, outside is crusty but the interior is very clean. ID# is 54-23176 or 54-23I76. Looked in the Green Book but couldn't find it. Is it worth the $100 the lady is asking? Tried...

    92/81 Carbs

@deuce lover and @ deuce roadster, thank you for the replies. Maybe I've finally lucked out. Fellow I bought them off of had four he had thought about using on a 4 x 2 manifold he had but then decided not to. Again, thank you

    92/81 Carbs

I have read and understand that the 81 carbs came on the V8 60 engine. Will two 81's work on stock 59AB and if not, why do so many people seem to want them?

    Block boring

I don't know where you are in AL but if you're anywhere Chattanooga, Roberts and Sons, 4285 Bonny Oaks Dr., Chattanooga, TN, 423 698 4097, is the place to go. I've been very pleased with their work. Bobby, the owner, races vintage flathead dirt cars.

    '35-'36 W/8BA Fan

Do you think it would be possible to modify this fan setup for a 59AB? With the stock fan mount as low as it can go, the fan blades are going to run into the bottom of the upper radiator hoses about 1/4" and the fan mount is sitting right on top of the distributor. I don't want to shorten the...

    Rust Oleum spray cans

I have several spray cans of Rustoleum that I've had for more than two years. About 9 months ago, I turned the cans upside down and every month after that, I would alternate turning them right side up and back upside down. I shake them well when I'm ready to use them and haven't lost any more...

    Looking for a new job-maybe...

Mac. I think your idea of a weekend training session on rebuilding transmissions, or anything else you would want to share, would be great. If you decide to do so, I would like to be there. You've got my email, phone # in your files. Let me know when. Alan Purvis, Cleveland, TN

    41 merc v8 oil pressure

I'll take it that you don't have an oil filter. I plugged the port that would have normally supplied the oil filter, removed the 6v sender and installed a mechanical gauge. I think the new gauge has a problem because I'm showing 70 pounds of pressure even after the oil is warm. Good luck and...
