Having an issue with my early 31 SW brake lights. When first applying pedal, brake lights work fine. However as you continue on the pedal the brake lights go out. No impact on tail lights/turn signals. Could the switch work for first portion of travel and then not work? What else to check...

I had a rattle that turned out to be the rod in E brake that is activated when you push the button on top to release the e brake. Drove me crazy till I found it as I thought it was dash/firewall/floorboard. Finally I just placed my finger on the button while driving , and no rattle Took it...
