    Transmission rebuilder

Thanks for the responses. The previous owner told him he didn’t drive the truck much at all. And I don’t know if the trans was rebuilt when it was “restored”. The clutch pedal felt okay to me but I’ll check it out more closely the next time I see him, in about 2 weeks. I’ll bring some tools and...

    Transmission rebuilder

My nephew has a ‘48 Ford F-1 with a Flathead 6 and a 4 speed. The transmission is in serious need of a rebuild, or so I suspect. When I drove it you could barely get it to shift into 3rd, (from 2nd). When at a stand still and idling you can barely get it into 2nd to start off. (1st gear is a...

    302 oil pan

I want to get a new oil pan for the 1970 302 I'm putting in my '65 Country Sedan. If I can't find a nice original are there any brands anybody can recommend, or steer clear of? Thanks, Al

    Broken temp sender unit

Thanks for the picture! Mine's broken off about 3/8" down in the head. In other words I can see about 3/8" of the female threads in the head. Looking at the picture I would guess there's only a couple of threads left on the sending unit that are engaged in the head, if it's the same type of...

    Broken temp sender unit

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The head is off the engine. The bulb part is still in the head, but whats left of the bulb is about 3/8" below the surface. I would imagine there aren't a lot of threads left engaging the head. ???

    Broken temp sender unit

I have a broken temperature sending unit in a '39 cylinder head. It's broken below the surface, nothing to put a wrench on. Should I just drill it out with progressively larger bits until I can just peel out the remains? I did a search but couldn't find anything. Any help would be appreciated...
