    Front Brake Actuator Grease Fittings

Put the grease fittings in the freezer overnight. They will be easy to drive in on the car with the vendor tool. Freezing the fitting does wonders for ease of installation.

How common is it to just take the shocks off?

Ken Davis' shocks are bolt on rears. I put a pair on my 29 CCPU. These shocks he uses are are from a 65 Mustang rear. They have a 6.5 inch compressible length which is very close to the distance that the original Houdaille shock travels. The 65 Mustang weighed 2800 lbs. The 29 CCPU weighs 2300...

    Stuck gas gauge bezel stuck

I had the same problem. Ended up emptying the gas tank, flushing with water, airing it out for a week and then used a dremel to cut off the bezel. Definitely not fun, but I got it out.

    Brake Centering Challenges

Are your brake adjusting shaft pins new? I had a problem with the new pins. The shaft is supposed to be .490 in diameter. Mine were .494. This did not allow the shafts to fully seat in the brake adjusting housing, thus holding the top of the brake shoes slightly higher than they should have...

    ahooga horn

Just overhauled (cleaned, painted, oiled, adjusted) my horn. The diaphragm looked like it had spent half its life in salt water and had been painted multiple times. I decided to replace it instead of trying to clean it up. The difference in sound quality and volume is amazing. Almost hurts my...

Need Advice on Emergency Brake Shoes

Are you sure you are mounting the e-brake shoes correctly? They have an "inside" and an "outside" when they mount on the e-brake carrier. If you mount them wrong side in then they can cant (lean to one side) which could be causing the drag.

    Light Bar Repaint Question

Just did the same thing last week.. I did not sand any areas but I did clean the bolt holes well as well as the threads on the bolts themselves. I then used Loctite Copper Antiseize 8008 on the mounting holes and bolts. This antiseize is advertised as being highly conductive. When I checked...

    Hand throttle play

Throttle control assembly's are almost always bent. People remove/install the engine with the assembly on and it bends when it hits the firewall. They can be straightened without heat - just put it in a vise and go at it. It is hard to straighten it correctly - especially if you don't have a...
