It was 41 this morning at 5;30am and raining,
temps dropped around noon and the rain turned to snow. We got about 1-2 Inches. Not bad, I can live with that.
I'm with ya on staying away from the EZ outs. Not unless you have some carbide drill bits. Heat works or drill & retap it. Just make sure to use a punch center drill. Some times a left handed drill bit will work also. Iv pull many a broken bolts using a lefty. And another helpful hint is...
I absolutely Love my 46. I love the looks of it and love driving it. I don't think there is one ugly part on it. And when I drive it around town you wouldn't believe all of the thumbs up I get. Last but not least I have taken my 46 to 3 car shows sense I finished it up and I have three First...
I took my radiator over to Darrel Maxi muffler and Tim there looked at my radiator and said it looked like it had been recorred not so long ago. He got out the rod that he uses and dropped it down the tubes directly under the fill hole and it dropped freely down to the bottom. Now I realize he...
Old Henry. I didnt see your response until after I wrote to 48Flyer. I talked to the guys over at Northern Trucking and have it set up with them to do it.
But thanks anyway. Maybe Ill compare prices between the two of them rodding or recorring.
48 Flyer. Yeah Darrels is still over on F41. I don't usually deal with them due to there over on the other side of town or that I'm just to lazy to drive over there. I do buy my oxygen and gas from them. I called northern trucking over on river rd which is about a block away from my house...
I looked on the old net here and found a radiator repair shop that told me they would remove the ends and rod it and they explained to me what rodding was. the only problem is that there an hour and 1/2 south of here so Ill have to make a day of it maybe even take the wife down with me and wine...
I have the fan assembly off the car and the radiator out. Now in this neck of the woods there isnt a radiator shop around. Where would be a good place to send this radiator to get serviced. And what is Rodded ? Iv read this in a couple different post and not sure what it is.
Thanks.
I went over to my shop and was checking out a few things on the 46 and noticed the was no spring resistance on the radiator cap at all which leads me to believe the cap is shot and could be a part of the problem. I think Ill pull the radiator out of it and take it to a radiator shop and have...
G.M Thanks for all of the info. I just installed 160 degree thermostats in my 46. I haven't ran it sense installing them and was told my an old timer at a car show last summer that this would help cool the motor down by allowing the coolant to spend a little more time in the radiator which...
