    Bendix disengaging early

Hmm... fair point. Maybe I subconsciously turned the key, I'll try it again later :)

    Bendix disengaging early

Something else worth nothing. When I was cranking the starter with no ign or fuel, there was one very brief moment when a cylinder ignited. Likely some residual fuel enough for a half firing. Whenever I turn off my car I always let the car run with fuel shutoff as the carb drain out. That all...

    Bendix disengaging early

I made an attempt at two things. 1 - Cranked the motor with no ignition/fuel to see if the bendix pops out. Did not. I let it crank for quite a few complete revolutions 2 - I did inspect the ring gear and rotated the crank by hand. From what I can tell it's in pretty good shape. Sounds...

    Bendix disengaging early

On cold starts my bendix disengages early after a few engine rotations and free wheels. On the 2nd start attempt the car fires right up. It happens 100% of the time and can't figure out what's going on. I replaced the spring, no change. I even replaced the entire bendix assy from an original...

    Sources for Radiators ??

I'm running a 160 deg tstat and have hit 140F so far peak. Ambient temp is around 50-60 at the moment. I have the Extreme Touring 11FPI Radiator which is the coolest per Brassworks.

    Sources for Radiators ??

Get a new one from Brassworks and wait the wait. I initially tried to repair my original radiator at a well known shop. Paid $500 however still ended up overheating and throwing it away. Got the Brassworks for $1100 and running cool (too cool actually!)

    Generator over-current

Wanted to provide an update in case anyone runs into this. It turned out that my field coils were 12V units. I have no clue how this got in the car under the previous owner. I'm now getting 8V and roughly 3A out of the generator. Thanks for all the help here.

    Looking for body number plate

Well, I'm getting there but not as clean as I would've liked. Was able to remove the paint however the primer which almost feels like body filler is caked on there. Had to use a blade to scrape off the surface even after soaking it in lacquer thinner. I don't see any black on brass repro tags...

    Looking for body number plate

What my real problem is, is my original tag is painted over. If I pop the tag off and dip it in paint stripper would that remove the original markings? I'm not super familiar with acid etching.

I need it for a 30' Tracking the usual resellers have these; however heard they are of low quality.

    Generator over-current

^ we talked that. But 16V? It shouldn't be putting that out even with the wrong fields

    Generator over-current

Quick update, I removed the generator from the car and did a full inspection, continuity and isolation test. Everything checked out the nominal. I took the generator to a local shop and had him test it out on the test bench. It was putting out about 16V, he then did a motoring test and commented...

    Generator over-current

Based on this my, last bullet in post #5 is the culprit, correct? I should have full isolation between the terminal post to structure.
