    1928 header cap fit

So I am getting close to fitting the top and top trim. It's pretty far in the process to ask such a thing but how are things supposed to fit in this front corner? There's a little gap that i question how that's sealed up. I can't find a specific picture of how it was before removing the header...

    1928 Tudor progress

Ive been restoring this 28' Tudor my father inlaw gave us. Ive been at it almost 3 years now. I did almost everything except had Randy Gross do my brakes and model a medic refurbished the steering arms. My sons think it's really fun. I'm getting close to driving the car, if the engine holds...

for those who say the hobby is "expensive"

Like most hobbies it's only expensive if you keep track of the costs. Doing all the work myself, buying what used parts i could, our Free 28 Tudor has cost me $23k over the last 3 years. Will be a few grand more if this old engine ever needs rebuilt.

I asked him some installation questions and he only told me they only make upholstery but don't handle any installation. That i would have to ask an installer.

1928 wood header sheet metal fitting

I forgot to fit the header to the sheet metal. The panel over the header won't work back all the way. Any pointers at fitting the sheet metal? I did steal some play doh from the kids to check clearance but it's hard to tell where to trim first.

    dry transmission

Is the front really raised up? The stock Model A transmission has no seals, just a oil slinger. It only takes a 1.5 pints to fill the transmission, this isn't even up to the bearing to leak past if the vehicle is level. Are you checking the fluid level before the vehicle is put away? I have a...

    Spreading frame to install engine

I got lucky with mine. I just used a pry bar and the engine fell right into place. I just started one bolt on the front of the engine, before prying on the mount in the rear.

    Emergency brake shaft bushings

I just cleaned up the emergency brake shaft, added new felts and springs. I have never worked another, and am not sure it's working correctly. Does the shaft turn in the bushing, or ghe bushing turn in the mount? I did a short video to show what I mean. I feel like it's not...

    Shocks - reproduction vs. rebuilt

I just bought a modern set from Ken Davis Model A if that is what you are looking for. He's probably $100 cheaper than the major vendors, and they all about the same. http://www.kendavismodela.com/Shocks.html

    Brookville Roadster Running Boards

I sent them back, one day before I found out Rootlieb is having problems sourcing parts. I might wait to see if they are able to produce the 28/29 running boards again.
