Thanks for the info on the numbers. It would seem the car was made in the USA, but sold in Canada. I went to a few web sites and put in the VIN, but got no info. It appears to have been sold in Canada, so maybe the export cars had different numbers. The VIN is 55WA55368M Style BV79B Body...

I have come into possession of a 1955 8 passenger Mercury wagon, but can't find much info on how many were made or how to decode a Canadian VIN. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
