    54merc how to duals?

I’ve seen the posted photos of relocating the neutral safety switch on y block Fords, but the Mercury has a lever integral to the FOM trans. that is housed in the steering column. Won’t this lever (that isn’t removable) also obstruct the driver’s side exhaust? I have a set of 55 Ford exhaust...

    1954 Mercury duals

I found a pair of right and left exhaust manifolds from a 1955 y block. I intend to use them, but was under the impression that the neutral saftey switch would have to be relocated. Mine is an automatic.

Ventilating engine on a 54 Merc

I have driven a few hundred miles since using the original type oil breather cap and it is venting better and minimal dripping coming out of the draft tube.

    1954 Mercury underhood question

There’s someone I found that remakes these hinges better than the weak originals. They are fairly expensive - around $500 per pair at the time. I put them on my Merc and they are good.

    Speedometer for 46 Ford Car

…That is to start taking it apart. We popped out the odometer and the bracket that holds the magnet disc. His was froze up in the shaft that the speedometer cable connects to. We did pop out the oiler cover and put a penetrating oil in. Now just waiting to see if that breaks it free.

Ventilating engine on a 54 Merc

The filter shown is the one I dug out of the extra parts bin, cleaned up and put on. This was the original the engine. I had a new one on it prior to this and it had a foam filter. I suspected that it didn’t breathe enough.maybe the new one that has been on the engine for 2000 miles plus has...

Ventilating engine on a 54 Merc

After cleaning the filters on the breather cap and the vent tube, I looked under the car after I had drove 20 miles or so. The vent pipe was dripping oil. I started it back up to see if the dripping would change. After it ran about a couple minutes, the drip got a little faster - a drip every...

Ventilating engine on a 54 Merc

I believe you guys are right on! I think if I clean the filters, that might be most of my problem. It didn’t seem to be leaking when I had it in the shop a long time during the body restoration. Probably all the short trips gummed it up. I’ll come back on after I do this. I might have some...

Ventilating engine on a 54 Merc

Wanting to replace the vent tube with a better vent system. It leaks on the floor, and not sure if I have a problem with it since I am blowing oil out the rear main (1 qt every 150 miles), and I’ve noticed vapor coming out of the oil fill pipe when pulling off the cap. The car has 1500 miles...
