Ford T Joe Gemsa - Not Mine

Just noticed this listing on Ebay and wanted to share with the folks on FordBarn. It seems pretty cool but I don't know enough about it to know if the price is reasonable or not. Looks like the listing includes T block, alum cover plates & other accessories... Best of luck with your projects...

    Rebuilding an Ardun OHV 1954 - 1956

Here's the basic look I'm going for. This engine came out of an Allard J2 race car.

    Rebuilding an Ardun OHV 1954 - 1956

Thanks for the tip Ronnie. I've seen a few Pounden mag bases but not with the magneto. I understand he used airplane mags so seems possible to reconstruct but I haven't found a whole assembly of base + mag so a little reluctant to go down that path. The angle drive I found has a bronze adaptor...

    Rebuilding an Ardun OHV 1954 - 1956

The transmission returned does have the LZ gears that I sent, later model synchronizers, and the other good parts. Everything else now seems OK in the trans now. I'm really just annoyed that I went out of my way to find the 39 trans that I sent them, paid too much for it, and drove 600 miles...

    Rebuilding an Ardun OHV 1954 - 1956

As for the rebuilder, he's a very well-known rebuilder, is very knowledgeable and in general seems like a decent guy. He has a shop guy that does the rebuilds in another location and I'm guessing there is a communication problem between the main office and the shop. For another example, the shop...

    Rebuilding an Ardun OHV 1954 - 1956

Another project I'm working on is the transmission for the car - perhaps you guys can give me some advice... Other guys said that English built cars had the serial number stamped on a tag on the firewall and not the transmission. OK no problem, after a year of searching, paying too much and...

    Rebuilding an Ardun OHV 1954 - 1956

Apologies for the long delay on updates but yes - following in Sisler's quest to rebuild the engine and car. Still in the parts acquisition mode and did find a C69A block. In a couple of the original owner's letters, Sisler mentioned the car had a C99A block but not sure that was correct since...

PCV VALVE SYSTEM for 8BA with Early Intake Manifold

Why didn't you run the PCV into the bottom of the intake manifold instead of routing a tube outside through the breather and then back into the manifold? I'm not trying to be a pest but thinking about tapping directly to the bottom of the intake manifold so want to make sure there isn't...

    Wanted - L/Z 24 tooth second gear. 06H - 7102

Trying to find a 24 tooth second gear pn 06H-7102. I can probably find a repo but hoping for a NOS or acceptable used part. Send me a note if you have any leads. Kind regards Robert Lattin

1936 Dual Pulley water pump parts

Try Skip Heaney, http://www.fordcollector.com/water_pumps.htm He rebuilt a pair of dual pulley wps for me last year and thought he did a good job. Not sure if he sells parts only but he’s very knowledgeable and seems like a decent guy. probably at least worth talking to.

    C69A Ultrasonic Cylinder Thickness Test

Great information- your ultrasound guy did a much more detailed report than my guy did. I’d have to agree. They are pretty much the same… Maybe even a little better for the 59A.

    C69A Ultrasonic Cylinder Thickness Test

There has been some question / mystique about Canadian engine cylinder walls being thicker or better material. Not sure about the material question but I did find a C69A engine block for a project I'm working on and thought I'd share the ultrasonic test with the rest of the Ford community. The...

    Combustion Visualization inside a Flathead

Hope you guys don't get too upset with starting this thread since it's not a restoration project. These are too cool though to not share. Everyone that has ever built an engine has to always wonder exactly what is going on inside the darn thing when she's fired up. Secret revealed... The engine...

    Rebuilding an Ardun OHV 1954 - 1956

Thanks much for the Hilborn fuel injection system info - I haven't been able to find out much about that so really appreciated seeing what it's supposed to look like.
