Not Model A: What happen to Model T number 77?

The other T mentioned in the article was #3,058,769 and was "one of the newest" so that puts the date of the article around the end of April, 1919.

    Interior cab size 1931 truck

Your feet will probably be more of an issue than your height. Most people were not just shorter and lighter weight back then; they also had considerably smaller feet. Since you say you'd like to get a truck, you might consider some of the things others have done to make a little more room...

    Fat Guy's Only!!! Roadster

That's how I get into my CCPU too. Getting out is easier unless I've been in the driver's seat a little too long. In that case, getting unbent and standing again can be a challenge, but it's also a challenge in a modern vehicle. :(

    7 tooth steering box lube

Just a couple of corrections to the above: 600W gear oil is not "600 weight." The "W" in the old Ford-recommended 600W gear oil does not mean "weight" (nor does it refer to "winter" as in the modern usage of "W" in lubricant terminology. Exxon-Mobil, AFAIK the only remaining maker of 600W gear...

    Roadster vs. Closed Cab Pickup

Fender mounted spare tires on pickups interfere with full door opening. Most pickups have a spare on the driver's side and a shorter door check on the driver's door to prevent the door from hitting the spare tire. IMO, it's not the door swing causing a problem on early style pickups; it's the...

A Venice Police Model A Fills up with Purr-Pull Gasoline in 1930

The modern protocols for EMS in the US were established in 1970 and were based on studies done in the 1960s. It took a while after that for all states and subordinate agencies to conform. It really depends on the location. Some large cities had municipally-operated EMS long before 1970, but the...

A Venice Police Model A Fills up with Purr-Pull Gasoline in 1930

Around the same time service station attendants stopped wearing bow ties.

United Motors Key for 1930 Model A?

No, it wasn't. General Motors was founded in 1908, eight years before United Motors was founded in 1916. At the time when Durant founded United Motors, he was no longer employed by General Motors. He returned to GM shortly after he founded United Motors and General Motors purchased United Motors...

Picture of 29 in Commercial Gray...

This is the only commercial drab '29 I've ever found on the web: http://volocars.com/1929-ford-model-a-deluxe-sedan-delivery-c-4747.htm#sthash.BXPPBBB6.dpbs I've considered painting my '29 CCPU that color, but so far have chosen to leave it with what's left of its original black.

    Rouge/Aluminium F150 changeover. Bigger gamble than 1928?

How long has it been since you've compared the two side by side? The F250 hasn't shared any sheet metal, nor much of anything else, with the F150 since 1999, when the light-duty F250 was discontinued. The Super Duty F250 and F350 have never shared sheet metal with the F150.

    My experience with 10% gas

Well, I'd say you just got lucky. I've had about equal experience, with old gas--even without Stabil--sometimes being fine after a year or more, and other times, going horribly bad in short order, even with Stabil in it. You just never know what it's going to do. :(

Tail light safety and modern traffic

I drive vintage trucks and farm equipment on the road a lot more than I drive a Model A, and I see that kind of behavior far too often. And, I think such driver's road rage, or just plain impatience, is there all the time. It may be repressed, until something or someone gets in their way of...

    Cupholder Dash Mount

I doubt Model A drivers ever had, or ever gave any thought to, any kind of cup holder at the time, except for their own hands. Add 3 or 4 decades for later cars too. Cars didn't start coming with built-in cup holders until the 1970s, although some earlier ones had indents in the glove box door...
