    41 Commercial PU question

fordyford: Sorry for the delay in getting back. Got involved in another car and lost track of time. How is the windlace cutoff and ended at the cowl and the grill? Is it folded over to hide the cutoff? Mike

    41 Commercial PU question

Mart: I think my problem is that I don't have the proper windlace on the doors. The PO put in some sort of rubber strips inside the door area and everything is binding on that. Either I have to remove it and put in the correct windlace, or change it to something more pliable, like a tubing...

    Columbia Two-Power Range decal

Thanks Terry. I've been thinking of the Columbia ever since I bought my 41 pickup a few years ago. It would be nice to take it on a road trip. I'll check into it further. Mike

    41 Commercial PU question

I didn't know the term was Wind Lace. That is what I was referring to as welting. Now I can do a search on Wind Lace and see what comes up. Thanks fordyford.

    41 Commercial PU question

Fordyford: If there were no weatherstripping seals except for the bottom, how did one keep the wind from whistling thru the cab? Also, is there any welting around the hood? I have rubber bumpers on each side and welting on each side as well. You can't keep the bumpers from bunching up the...

    41 Commercial PU question

Thanks for the heads up Karl. I'll try the "re-mold" for a bit while I look at some other issues. If that doesn't do it, I'll try moving the striker plate a little bit and see how that helps. Mike

    41 Commercial PU question

Well, I had typed a reply, but by the time I went and sent it, I had timed out of the web site. I'm not going to try and retype what I had. I'll simply say that I'll try the "re-mold" scenario that nelsb01 suggested and see how that goes. Do you have any idea on how long it might take to...

    41 Commercial PU question

Thanks for the thoughts Karl. Everything about the doors works just fine. They swing open and close freely. The issue is the actual latching of them. There is a double latch. The first catch is ok. It is the second and final catch that is the problem. That is when I have to "slam" the door to...

    41 Commercial PU question

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to mount the doors on a 41 PU? Mine are extremely hard to close without slamming them shut. Not a good idea if you ask me. I think it is simply a matter of adjusting them. Mike

    2024 VANPELT catalog

Mac: I just wanted to give you a big Thank You for your shipping on my recent order. I ordered a fan hub (all bearings) while you were on vacation and didn't expect to see it until next week or later. You acknowledged the order as soon as you were back on the 17th, shipped it on the 17th and I...

Does anybody know anything about mribbich?

I found an ad in the Wanted section from an mribbich in Eagle, Wi. He claims to have a lot of early Ford parts. I've never seen or heard of him previously and want to know if he is legitimate or not.

    ‘46 Choke and Throttle rods

Re: ‘46 Choke and Throttle rods Bruce: When I did my 41 pickup, I TIG Tack welded them. With caution, you can avoid melting the rubber. If I had to do it again, I would probably crimp them as you thought or swage them with a chisel. Another barn member recommended JB Weld. You could also...

    6 Volt heater motor rebuild

I'm making progress. Ecklers has a wiring harness that I ordered. There is a place in California that would rebuild the Redmond motor I have. I'm not very fond of their price structure though. $75.00 to test it and $425 additional if it needs to be rewound. I'm having conversations with a guy...

    6 Volt heater motor rebuild

I just went through a lot of search results looking for information regarding rebuilding of my 6 volt heater motor. Unfortunately, most of it was at least 10 years old and not all that current. So, does anyone have or know of someone that will rebuild a 6 volt heater motor. This is in a 41...
