    Holley 94 acc rod felt

I have tried to install new felt on several of these carbs and always end up in a struggle. Anyone have the secret on a good install of the felt and washer without cobbling up the retainer lip on the main carb body? JB

    Source for 11” front drums(48-52 F1?)

Re: Source for 11” front drums(48-52 F1?) Great guys, thanks and sorry for hijacking the post. Last question, any good way to distinguish the f1 vs f100 spindles, I assume length of the tapered cone? JB

Re: Source for 11” front drums(48-52 F1?) Rich, if you can add details to differentiate between a F1 vs F100 spindle would be helpful. JB

    49 F1 Flathead 6

Our 50 F1 has the 226 and it runs like a sewing machine. It’s not as popular as the V8 but I like it. We rebuilt the engine and with a little effort found everything we needed to do it, all NOS components. Over the years I have amassed quite the hoard of spare parts so if you run into something...

1940 Ford hood safety wire tips.

Anytime I get to run safety wire, I get excited! It’s an opportunity to really show skills and neatness. Think about good tight wire twists and wire orientation that will not allow the bolt to back out. Any tails you have, trim them neat and bend to avoid putting an eye out. A good pair of...

    Wheel Bearing Lubricant

Amazing how we get fixated on something like wheel bearing grease lol! Our wives just don’t understand the disease that we all have working on these old vehicles! If they knew how bad we really had it and the lengths we went to, to hide it…..they would have left us a long time ago. JB

One other thing, once you get it running, I would setup a spare carb that is tuned. If you run into problems down the road, you can swap them out quickly and eliminate a carb issue in your troubleshooting steps. JB

This is just my opinion, but I would try rebuilding the carb yourself if you are mechanically inclined. I am a novice as compared to most on here and all my carbs I have rebuilt run great after some tuning. You will learn a lot along the way. I always get my carb kits from Daytona. Also keep...

    Holley 94 rebuild

Thank you sir, that carb base looks great! I have a NOS carb base and it’s black, but it’s not paint. It’s a coating of some type. Love the look of yours as it’s similar, I will have to try the bluing treatment. Yes I think my color is close. It matches other air horn and carb bases that I...

    Holley 94 rebuild

It was a rough core, but you can’t judge a book by its cover! I think it turned out nice…….before and after. Need to get it on the engine and tune it. JB

    Clutch won't dis-engage

I had this happen a couple of months ago. We couldn’t get it to break loose. Had to take the transmission out to free it. I replaced the clutch and threw that one in the trash, it was an all day job. JB

Yes it is possible and very enjoyable. Plating is a pretty fun process. Caswell is my go to for supplies. JB
