Yes sir your correct it does still have the mechanical brakes and the lever next to the cowl that shifts the rear end. I didn't know that about the bolt pattern on the trucks. That's one of the things I love about this site, is the wealth of knowledge. Thank you

This truck has an Eaton two speed rear end it was the first year that Ford had used it under their trucks. It is smaller in dia. than the drums on my other two 34 trucks which both have single speed rear ends. It measures 14" on the inside of the drum. I sure do appreciate everyone's help...
