    1929 Roof

As was stated, the technology of stamping such a large panel was a problem. The first Ford all metal roof appeared in August of 31 on the late 31 Pick-up and trucks stamped by the Budd company. 32-34 trucks continued with a metal roof with an improved design.

    1931 Coupe doors

No, 30-31 Sedan & pick-up doors are interchangeable only between sedans & pick-ups, but are too long for a coupe. Coupe doors are only for a coupe, no interchange. There is a good resale market for sedan/pick-up doors once you find Coupe doors.

    Splash apron questions.

Several items. On a 1930 the short apron was originally spot welded to the fender, not bolted. The apron and running board was one piece that is why there is not lip at the bottom. To properly fit I would fasten the fronts fenders, aprons, running boards and rear fenders on the car and then...

A coupe door has a large circular impression around the inside window crank handle. A sedan/pick-up door inner structure is straight. The attached picture is a coupe.

    A Little More Information Please

You'll have to extend the bumper brackets 6" so that they will be beyond the back of the box so they can be effective. You could build new wood mounting blocks for the box that extend further back and build a cross member that the bumper bracket supports can bolt to. My pickup isn't stock, I...

Why the insert fabric roof and not steel

The Late 31 pick-up was the first Ford will an all steel roof. Alot of it had to do with the roads and the flexability of the bodies. If you went all steel something would have to give. Cars such as the Model A were originally design to move and twist.

The passenger side measures 1-1/8", the drivers side is a little less. Both have had patch panels installed years ago.

    Model A body panel questions

Here are several pictures, one of the outside right rear and the other of the inside left rear. The wheel wells are not a uniform depth, but vary to the deepest of about 3 inches. i just repaired the rear sub-rail on mine, the lower outer wheelwell hasn't been done yet.

    Model A body panel questions

You may want to install the sub-rails first before tackling the wheel wells. I can take some pictures of my coupe and post. The wheelwell portion that is sold is is just the flat piece of the wheelwell, the wheelwell itself is inset at least 2-3 inches.
