Thanks for all the responses. I will research the article in the restorer for the recipe. I want a durable finish that won't wash off with gasoline.

Need advice on replacing the kingpins. Take the axle off or leave it on the car. The brakes are currently off so I think the axle should come down without much more work. Any pitfalls to avoid and advice on the proper techniques needed.

Thanks for the input. I still would purchase the tool and perform the expansion as a learning tool for my club seminars. Yes, the purchase of a set of pistons is not expensive and the cost is not at issue The purpose will be a learning tool.
