Fred, You might try putting oil in the accelerator bracket in the back of the motor. There are two holes for oiling this bracket. This might free up the bracket and make your acceleration smoother.

That sounds like a good solution. My mechanic put a U shaped piece of medal that has been tapped and threaded to fit the top of the accelerator and at the top he put about a two inch roller for the pedal to rest on. Works pretty well. Also, I do know how to spell replies

Thank you fellows for the above comments. The motor is running fine, my problem is not a lack of fuel,I have a good fuel flow. The motor is reving properly but the car just jerks in the two lower gears unless I ride the clutch. As soon as I shift to high everything is fine.
