Are the rear valance panels different between Briggs and Murray bodies? Anyone out there have a pic to post?

What is that panel called that mounts below the rear of the body and between the rear fender on the 1928 and 1929 Fordors? Looks to me like its a filler panel. Also, where could a fella go to procure one? Thank you gentlemen!

I had this same problem so I cut a gasket from 1/8" rubber and added it to the cork gasket for it to seal. However, on my repro cap, the threads were welded in on an angle that pitched the threads an 1/8" off from the outer "shell" of the cap. It's very difficult to screw on and when it is on...

I agree completely! I have found wiping it as soon as I'm finished using it does help... but not 100%. Have you tried Krylon recently? LOVE the nozzle and spray pattern!!! Waaaay better than Rustoleum.

Purdy is correct. The angle of the mounting flanges to the fenders is different between the 28-29 and the 30-31. Will it bolt on? Yes. But, there will be a gap that will not close between each flange and fender that does not look correct.
