    Car seized up

Thanks for the help. I just talked to the folks at 3rd den and got everything ordered, they were great. I would have preferred to utilise my OEM stuff for a rebuild but I don't think it was in the greatest shape. Hopefully I wont have any issues with these imported parts.

    Car seized up

I have reached out to Third gen and not heard back. I have to go to Napa shortly for a part so I will check there. Thanks,

    Car seized up

Anyone have a recommendation on the best folks to buy from. I try to use Mac Van P but he said they no longer have brake parts.

    Car seized up

Hey Guys, I'm looking for some wisdom and experience. I finally got around to checking things out and here is what I found. Master cylinder is leaking and all for wheel cylinders are full of rust and leaking. I believe these parts are original ford parts but I'm wondering if it's better to...

    Car seized up

Hope you are doing well! If this crud gumming up the hole is the issue then after it cleared is the problem fixed?

    Car seized up

Well I'm a bit late in responding! Thanks for the feedback. I plan to look deeper into this in the coming days. I took it out for a drive about 2 weeks ago and short of the squeak when I hit the brakes hard it all seems to run and drive fine. When this happened I drove it for about 20 minutes...

    1936 model 68 lift points

Maybe a dumb question but is it the same frame as a 36 truck you think?

    Car seized up

Hey everyone, Wanted to see if anyone might chime in before I started messing with anything. I have a 1941 Mercury 8 Convertible that is fully restored. Never had an issue with the car in the past. I took it out for the 1st nice weather drive about 3 weeks ago and had to have it towed home...

    Overheating questions

I’m sorry if I send this post going in a different direction than I intended. I was not posting to share a mistake that was made. The question was meant to be, if a car gets up to 235 degrees would that typically do damage. The 2nd question is, before I drive the car again is there anything...

    Overheating questions

Took the rig out for a drive today and about 5-7 minutes in I looked down and it was all the way to H. I pulled over and waited until it got back to “normal” and drove home having to stop and wait one more time. When I got home shot the head with an inferred heat gun and it read 232. Turned out...

    Carb rebuilt byy Charlie S

Not sure how many folks here have used Charlie Schwendler for a carb rebuild or tune up but I just wanted to give him a big shout out for a great job and amazing experience. I sent him my carb with some issues, and it came back to me within two weeks. Bolted that sucker on and I could not be...

    Oil for Columbia rear end

I'm circling back on this topic. I ordered the Penn Grade GL-4 80W-90 based on the recommendations in a couple replies, thanks for that. I had read that his is also what should be used in the 3 speed top loader. Is that correct, same oil for both trans and rear end with Columbia overdrive? Thanks,

    Oil for Columbia rear end

Thanks for the info. Do you know if that is a GL-4? When I talked with John and asked him he said 85-140 but did not state if it had to be a GL-4 or not.
