    Locked-up rear end

In reply 7, "they rotate as they should". In other words, rotate one side forward and other side rotates backward? Can both be rotated forward or backward with a person on each wheel and transmission in neutral? Success on these test should eliminate a differential and driveshaft problem.

    poor gas milage question

As I read this, you have not done an accurate mileage check. Top off tank, drive at least 100 miles, fill up and do calculation. Then give us the number. I get about 13 just hacking around on short trips of 10 miles or less which is the worst type of driving when looking for good mileage.

    Electric fuel pump 37 Ford

Just installed a 6volt on my 35. Overhauled the mechanical pump to prevent leaking and for look. Only use electric on start up after sitting awhile, then turn off. Important to have a good needle and seat in carb. Bob

    1935 Ford Police Car

Thanks for replies thus far. I have found some internet photos, and most seem to have a door decal, red lights mounted on bumper and/ or a siren red light combo mounted on fender or above windshield. All black mostly. I think 1935 was prior to the "bubblegum" light on top. My car is a solid...

No Oil Pressure Gauge in my 1935 Tudor

Been getting acquainted with my garage find 1935 Tudor Flatback and noticed there was no oil pressure gauge. The round gauge on the left of the speedometer is Fuel only and the gauge on the right is Temp and Ammeter. I have a 1936 owners manual that shows the left gauge as a combination fuel...

    Lug nut torque

Tighten with your crank lug wrench so you can get them off on the side of the road. Don't ask me how I know!

    1929 model a won't stay running!

I agree with previous poster---no need to fiddle with anything else until you give us results of #11. Speaking of GAV, I have no idea how many turns in and out mine is set. When cold, I just adjust it richer to keep it running smoothly and within a mile I find the "sweet spot". Then leave it...

    Rough running cold.

Edmond. My question in #5 and #14 was to the original poster and has not been answered by him. I believed you interpreted it as my inquiry but your answer was indeed thorough and correct and probably helpful to many. As a Model A owner for over 50 years., I've tried most of the tricks also. So...

    Rough running cold.

I'm back to my question in post #5. What is the effect of opening the GAV when cold. How does the cold engine run if you hold the choke slightly closed while warming up. If better then I would still suspect lean cold mixture needing GAV adjustment.

    Rough running cold.

Assume you have opened the GAV when cold and it has no effect?

    lorin sorensen's fordiana series books

Gary and others, I am a potential buyer of a complete set for my personal collection. I bought the first one, The American Ford, in the 70's but got distracted in my business and family. Searched eBay but could not find a set listed. A hint of your search parameters would be helpful. Anyone else...

Spark Advance and Throttle Levers very tight.

Check the mechanism that bolts to the back of the motor near the firewall. You stated the levers move freely with the rods disconnected. I have had these rusted up. Oil hole in two places, I believe. Make sure the spring is not broken. Bob
