    Rear end squealing/whining

I'm not sure. Since I'm the only guy who knows how to drive manual I can only hear it inside the cab. It could very well be. I've never had the transmission apart but how intensive is the process to fix that If that's the case? What could cause this to happen in the first place? Plus, this noise...

    Rear end squealing/whining

I'm scared afraid of putting a vehicle in gear while on stands so I can't do that test but I did as you said while driving it and pulling on the brake didn't seem to make a difference. What I have noticed is that the sound seems to intensify when the clutch is applied and is very intermittent...

    Rear end squealing/whining

It is a floating axle rear. Diff fluid is full with 90w but I don't know if that's what is supposed to be in there.

    Rear end squealing/whining

Hello Folks, I have a 1955 f-350 with a 239CI Y-block V8 and 4 speed silent synchro transmission. The rear end is a simple differential and does not have any gears unlike the heavier trucks such as the f-750 etc. My issue is a strange squealing/whining noise that occurs when coasting from about...

    Fuel issues

The ignition system is brand new but I tested it since making this post, thank you for the insight. All is well with the ignition system.

    Fuel issues

Thank you all for the pointers, I drive this truck daily at least 10 miles a day, I have a nice brand new factory spec fuel cap on my brand new tank, since its driven so often the fuel never goes bad, the ignition is brand new and to factory specs, 6v positive ground system. My suspicion is that...

    Fuel issues

mechanical choke yes, vented cap yes, ignition system is completely new and done to factory original specs. I went ahead and got a 170 degree thermo and we will see if that fixes it.

    Fuel issues

Hi all, I have a 1955 F-350, I use it a lot to get work done around the neighborhood. Unfortunately whenever I drive it for more than 30 minutes or so it begins to sputter and chug like it's running out of fuel, it's strange because I made sure all the lines are clean and the gas tank is brand...

    Oil guage indicating backwards

It is a pressure switch for a gauge yes. single prong not 2 terminals. 78 psi cold start drops to around 47-50 at op temp.

I tried to find one but they don't exist NOS.....

    Oil guage indicating backwards

I have resurrected a very solid 1955 F-350, this truck has the old 239 V8 "Y block". I had an oil leak after rebuilding the engine and suspected the oil sending unit to be the fault, I replaced the sender with a new one and it is now indicating backwards (as the engine revs pressure drops). the...
