I do not have a Y-Block, my truck has a 223 cu-inch straight-6.
The bell-housing on the '54 has tabs used as engine mounts. Engine bolts to housing, housing bolts to frame.
To me this has nothing to do with whether or not a transmission will bolt straight-up to it or not but in my searching...
I am seeking a Borg-Warner T-98 4 speed (floor shift) for a 1954 F-250 6-cyl.
I have Borg-Warner T-87 H/D 3 speed column shifter (no column components ) for trade or sale.
Would any other trans bolt up OK (1954 F-100 maybe)?
Leads to possible sources also very very welcome!
Thanks, Bob
I took over restoration of a 1954 F-250 after a friend passed away. And I know very little about restoring vehicles.
The truck had a Borg-Warner (sp?) T-98 4-speed that I was told was making a lot of noise. Currently it has a T-87 3-speed column shift (with no column components). I don't know...
