    V8 60 flathead

My understanding is that these are hard to rebuild and get just right so they don't leak after rebuilding. I avoided the headache by finding a pair of NOS pumps on eBay. A little pricey but well worth it in the end results.

    Helmet Type Distributor

37 to 41.....I can't picture how the condenser is mounted on the coil bracket and if I could see a photo it might clear things up for me. Thanks

Does anyone have a photo of a complete helmet distributor with coil and condenser installed. I need a close detailed diagram or photo if possible. Thanks

Did cars smoke in the fifties?

Back in the day I had a girlfriend that drove a 39 Chevy with a big oil leak. I couldn't remember if it was the front or rear main, but oil ran out almost as fast as you replaced it. I would go to a gas stations and ask for the used drained oil that was black in color. Most station owners were...

    Peggy Sue Got Married

The movie Peggy Sue Got Married was filmed in Santa Rosa, California in 1986. Since then a Peggy Sue's car show has been held in memory of that film in Santa Rosa annually and this years show had over 700 cars in attendants. There were the usual 55, 56, 57 Chevys and a variety of all other makes...

    shock absorber kits

Did the same rear kit from Drake, but did the front tube shock kit from Pete and Jake. Both turned out great and really improved overall handling but does ride a little harder then before with the old lever shocks. Price was much cheaper then rebuilding the old shocks.

    Numbers?

After removing the intake on a V8 60 motor I noticed these numbers stamped on the block. What do they mean? Were they put there by Ford or were they done after by some remanufacture? Maybe someone could shed some light on this.

    Overheating

I just had mine totally rebuilt with a new core here in the US for $350....not sure what it would cost to have done in Germany.

    V8-60 Fords Little Powerhouse

Funny thing is some owners must have felt this motor that came with my car was good enough to keep for 77 years. I can't believe it is still there and original. Maybe I won't win any races but it gets the car down the road anyway.

    39 coupe identification number location.

My 38 has it in two locations. On the driver side frame in the engine compartment and on the same side but on the raised frame over the axel. I believe the body has to be removed to see the id number in that location. Not sure?

    39 deluxe - 40 deluxe

This is easy to figure why a 40 is more popular than the 39. "IT'S BECAUSE SANTA CLAUS OWNS AND DRIVES ONE"

    39 deluxe - 40 deluxe

It's hard to find a 57 with a 283 motor....most have been changed out to a 350. In 57 I knew a man that factory ordered a 57 convertible, 283 with fuel injection and 4 speed manual. All these options were new in 57 if you could afford them. I always wondered what that car would be worth today...
