ok thanks for replys, the headers i have are for a RHD car maybe they are slightly different?steering box/starter same side? will try and post pic, thanks GM will jack the engine.

went to fit some reds headers today but could not quite get them in. only tried driver side so far. looks like i will need to jack up engine to get it in (prob 1/2" or so?), how far can you jack it? will chatter bars need removing, gearbox mount etc. any other probs to look out for? thanks.

exactly that had to file out washer, clears end of splines, steering should be sharper now.

ok thanks, will remove and check splines are not protruding maybe the extra washer was binding but it was getting a little dark with my bad eye sight.

hi mart, no its not really loose but it moves slightly on the splines,will have a proper look tonight, cheers vic.

the pitman arm on my 36 is very slightly loose on the splines, i removed nut and put another washer to tighten up on the taper as i thought nut was bottoming on thread end,no difference, although the arm is loose it would not pull off splines by hand, going to take off tonight any thing obvious...

1936 hood just hinged top, no sides pm if you have thanks.

correct, no need to use origonal regulator, i fitted a powergen nearly 2 yrs ago no probs at all so far .
