    Bent brake rod

Has anyone seen a brake rod with a bend in it. My 29 leatherback has a bent in the rear service brake rods on both side. Every manual I have looked at seems to say that they should be straight.

    Speedometer gear

Yup the seal is totally encased, I bought it from Brattons, seemed like a good quality seal. I also got the washer with the holes in there between the gear and the bearing. I am stumped. The bearing seems to be at the right height. It isn't any lower that the top of the race

    Torque tube

Good evening.....I am rebuilding the torque tube on my 29. I have the bearing race and seal out, but the seal came out in pieces. Mt question, is there a washer between the bearing and the seal? It looks like there may be, or is it just part of the seal I am looking at?

Good evening everyone. Removed the valve cover off of my 29, only to find cracks around the area where the bolt is threaded into the cover at the oil return location. The problem is that who ever did previous work on it over tightened that bolt and now it has cracks in it. It's not broke...

Thanks for all the responses, I will give the engine a good once over!! Because I really don't feel all that lucky, especially with so much at stake LOL As to why the car was parked, I am not sure. My Grandfather bought it new in 29, drove it as a daily driver until they parked it. After my...

Engine work after 70 years of not running!!

Good evening everyone, I am back with another question. My 29 Leatherback has not been started in over 70 years. Looking for opinions on weather I should pull the oil pan and take a look at things or leave it on. I has oil in it, it was garaged all the time it sat, and the engine is free and...
