side boards on the Model A pickup?

The 28/29 pickups have that flat rear part of the cab. Many people don’t like look and the Side Boards break it up. The 30/31’s and the Roadster Pickups have a rounded cab that has a more pleasing appearance without the side Boards.

Mine has a still inside those sideboards.

I agree whole heartily. I call this being a traditionalist! My Victoria has the step plates and like those rear bumpers and I will leave them on there even though I would not have wasted my time and money. What really bugs me is the "eye brows" on the headlights and the long wings and propellers on the radiator cap. It's just me, Ed

You know what?.....My 28ccpu originally had those "eye brows"....but, I took those off.....just couldn't stand them! :)

It's all a matter of what you like, Travieso....

I'm one who prefers the square cabs, no side boards, and big wire rims.

I suppose that's why you have yours, and I have mine! :)

You know what else I don't like?

Tire covers......

On my rig, it just looks more authentic to go without....in my opinion, of course!

Eccentric Old Guy: if you don't like non-original add-ons on a pickup, then why didn't you take those bumps off?????????????

I like it the way you have it- including all black, but the rear bumpers would be gone..........

Sideboards are very easy to put on and take off. One person can do it in a minute. if you don't feel like sideboards that day take them off.

I have a 1930 roadster pickup that had whitewalls on it when i got it years ago with chrome stanchions and radiator shell. I have added cal-lights for turn signals and side boards for hauling kids. I have heard of other cars bumping into pickups from behind and damaging them because of no bumper on pickups. I at one time considered putting them on but never have. One reason that I didn't was because the tail gate would hit and knock paint off. Everyone has different needs.

Back in the 70's my dad owned a ccpu. Because we drove it from VA to Tennessee to the national meet, he built a tonneau cover to keep our luggage dry. Other than that it was a standard pu with no bling. I really liked the looks of it.
