Reds

Last Wednesday they told me "next week", that they should have the '40 kit and would give me a call when ready, I was told this a month and a half ago too... I guess they can't find welders...

Also look at Sanderson headers. They have several for flathead engines. I bought a set of their block hugger headers and they fit my 32 coupe perfectly they have ones that fit other years too. You need to modify your dip stick or get a flexible one with the block huggers.

I bought a set of "Red's" for my 59a block. about a year ago. They fit perfectly. I was amazed how well they fit without any warped flanges, all the bolts fit right through their holes. If they are a little behind, it might be worth the wait to get a good product.

I just installed a set of Reds Headers on my 51 Creasliner today they fit perfect
the 2 extensions need a little tweaking when I get the tail pipes made I hope
he can make them fit better

had trouble w/reds and some i just got from speed way, they fit the block great but if you take a light and look in them you will see that the hole in the intersection of the pipe is only about 3/4 inch around, would choke the eng. took a stick welder and turned up the power and stuck the rod in and burned out the hole, careful not to blow hole in header. mine were belond center dump style. don't kno how you would fix the swept back type. when i have made headers i scribed the intersecting pipe and cut out to fit w/max hole, then weld, they just blow a hole w/torch and weld.

The exhaust is in! The body goes back on this week!

The Waldron kit is for a stock '40 with stock engine and suspension, I knew I was going to have a few issues... I have an 8BA, rear tube shocks and a rear sway bar...
The tailpipes are running under the tank... but! the rear tires are humongously (word?) tall! and if I ever drag 'em I got bigger problems a happenin'!

Very nice looking stuff - liked how you are really 'duck billing' the transitions into the main pipe - this makes them look a lot better and should help flow.

You might consider doing a 32, 33, 34 set of headers that has an actual 2-bolt flange on the ends - instead of the damn slip-on style ends (maybe charge more for it). I am adding this to my headers - makes a MUCH better joint and one that is easy to take apart, easy to fabricate the rear pipes for, etc.. I really do hate the slip on setups - unless they are absolutely necessary. It is a real pain to get them to seal and when you do, then a real ***** to ever get the rear pipes back off the damn things.

Once I modify my headers, will post the result on this site.

Bored & Stroked, Ask and ye shall receive....
here's a set of two bolt flanges that you spoke of....

I'll sell them unwelded so that y'all can clock them to what works for you particular application.

I will add these to the for sale listing with a price.
